Certified organic coffee is grown, harvested and processed without pesticides and fertilizers. Farms that grow certified organic coffees are tested for chemicals by an independent certification agency for three consecutive years. Once certified “organic”, farm soil is tested for chemical residues each year thereafter. The beans from certified farms are harvested in compliance with organic guidelines. And, certified organic beans are shipped to us in containers used only to ship organic products.
At the Beantrees roaster, certified organic beans are stored separately from conventional beans. Roasting equipment, processes and packaging must comply with certification guidelines, We are proud that Beantrees roasting facility and warehouses are certified organic by QAI and all new USDA federal guidelines. |
